Accommodation in Samoa is very low key with just a couple of holiday style beach resorts. A major part of tourism to the island is budget travel - there is an excellent system of affordable beach fales, most of which are owned and operated by local Samoan families.

There are just two main islands in Samoa - Upolu and Savaii. The international airport is on Upolu Island along with the capital town of Apia which makes a great base for exploring the island and its picturesque beaches and waterfalls. Neighbouring Savaii is great for sightseeing and is mostly volcanic in nature.
